My favorite parts of vacation usually include:
- being outside
- reading
- good food
- pretty much good times all around!
I went to Myrtle Beach last summer with Ryans family and we saw this amazing house on the corner directly across from the beach, we inquired about it while still in the area, and decided to get a deposit in before we ever left... and while i love to travel to new places, it was a little comforting to know exactly what & where i would be staying for a week.
Preparing for this trip, (with a 6 month old) i couldnt help but be a little worrisome in forgetting some important things... (ive been known to swear that i have my drivers license only to arrive at airport security and realize in fact, no, i do NOT have it. i did indeed leave it at home.)
Much to my surprise and everyone elses i remembered everything? who knew!? The day before and the day of the trip i took care of some business...
- new pair of sunglasses for Ryan
-5 new books that i cant wait to read...more about that later
-brazilian bikini wax ....----> if you're wondering what that feels like, use your imagination, then times it by a million, then add a million more for how awkward it is and maybe an extra million if you dont like to be sticky... and dont wear jeans on the way home... ouch.
Ryan, Matt & GM worked Friday then packed and we all met at our house and headed out by 6:30 (original goal was 6pm) We stopped for Subway about an hour into the trip, and then pretty much only for gas, bathroom & cigarettes on the way. We arrived safe and sound and barely awake twelve hours later. We met up with Ryans parents for a 'welcome to South Carolina & Vacation' Breakfast at iHOP.
After napping, walking around, bike riding, we killed all the time we could, and decided to food shop at the closest WalMart. (also, according to EVERYONE, the busiest walmart in the country? is this true?) 3 Carts, and $550.00 dollars later, we were headed to that awesome, 2 story, 5 bedroom, waterfront house!
That is where i witnessed multitasking and production lines at its finest...
8 adults were unloading groceries from the car, carrying them upstairs, unpacking, putting away, renting golf carts, and before we knew it, we were settled, by almost 4 pm... The resort that we stayed in has an 'electric car' only policy while driving throughout the resort, including the the laundromat, arcade, pool, snack shack, and general store etc. So, everyone that stays there rents or brings there own Golf Cart! Its so much fun, our house alone had 3 golf carts, and 6 bicycles...
well, stay tuned for Vacation Part 2:
to hear about fire works gone wrong, zip lines, and 'i know where you live' threats...
for now im unpacking, washing, rewashing, food shopping as fast as i can, we have an engagement party to be at... 1 hour ago!?
Peace Out!
