Ribeye and Bug-eye

Hi Guys!
I just want to fill you in on a few little random things from yesterday and this morning,
enjoy.

Yesterday was cooler than Monday, but still pretty humid.
I decided to run a mile and just got it over with on my treadmill.

For dinner I made Ryan a pan seared
- onion smothered ribeye,
and surprisingly it came out well!
It was served with roasted brussels sprouts and potatoes.

And for myself and PRINCESS,
I MICROWAVED brown rice added corn,
black beans, and some red and green peppers....
then TONS of Frank's RedHot.
As EVERYTHING tastes better with hot sauce!!!
#fact.

This morning I drove into town to run a few 'flat' miles
The weather is in the high 60's, which is my favorite.
Not too cold or too hot.

I got super creeped out by this car that passed me so I ran back a different way (obviously, in order to save my life)
I can't tell if I'm overly dramatic, judgmental, or using 'mom-instincts' buuuut, don't slow down all stalker-like and give a wonky eyed look at me. Twice. #mace_in_your_face

Once my short little life flashed before my eyes,
I remembered to take a few pictures!

I passed this super old/abandoned building and thought it was pretty badass looking...

Quiet side street + Paranoid running Momma =
S P R I N T  back to car.

Today I'm off to finish that OVER-ambitious TO DO list,
that DIDN'T get TO DONE...

6 inches and cheesesteak, but not a 6 inch cheesesteak

I wasn't going to be home for dinner last night,
and since Ryan thinks food magically cooks itself
and he's 'not quite sure' about the microwave,
I made dinner so the poor guy didn't have to 'starve'

I was running late as per usual in a rush so I forgot to take a pic of the 'after'
but I made Buffalo Chicken Cheese Steaks.

It was pretty simple I just sprayed a frying pan cubed 2 small chicken breasts and cooked them in some hot sauce. Add 1/2 an onion, throw some cheese on there, and VOILA.

I had a hair appointment at Ken & Co Aveda Salon

I showered before my appointment and let my hair do its own nasty thang...
which is to first to be as knotty as it can, then to frizz, with a few curls...

Heres my Before & After
I chopped almost SIX inches off!
It instantly feels healthier!
Less RAT-NEST/Dread-Wannabe

I need your guys help though.
What do you think of OMBRE colored hair?
is it awesome? or does it look like super roots?
Im thinking of adding some color,
probably similar to this!

Leave me a comment,
let me know!
(please & thank you. super IMPORTANT & DEEP stuff on this site)

What are you guys doing today?
Working?
I have a super long
TO DO list
I hope I get it TO DONE.... see what I did there?

Including possible NAME CHANGING!
 grass seed & topsoil buying
measuring of 2 windows to purchase new blinds,
new remote buying at the cable company because maybe the dog ate it AGAIN.
pit stop at GoodWill to drop off THREE BAGS full of clothes,
lunch date with my MiL at a TBD time and place,
Oh yah, and CONTINUE STREAKING

Have a good day!

bbq'd out + STREAKING

If I AM what I eat...
Am I a barbequed veggie burger?
Our weekend was like this:
Friday Ryan & I bbq'd at home,
Saturday we went to a friends BBQ.
Sunday and Monday, Family BBQ's.

Sooo, basically what I'm saying is,
I can't wait to bbq dinner tonight!

I met GM's lovers sister the other day and her too adorable son, called M.
The baby basically is in love, he even gave her TWO necklaces.
One for each kid he wants to have with her.

SHOE TWINS!

On memorial day- gmruns and I ran a local 5K...
We stayed together the whole time, and I'd like to say it was nice to chat while we ran,
but really all I did was try to stay alive and not have to crawl across the finish.
The weather was actually a WORLD RECORD,
300 DEGREES and 200 % humidity.
Obviously, I wore pants.
and 2 shirts.
#truestory
Thanks for kicking it waaay back with me GM,
no sub20min here!

This morning I laced up my sneaks and headed out for a 5-6 mile run
and it was ONLY 90% humidity, so obviously I felt great and ran fast WHILE NOT sweating...
The run was tough, I haven't been running,
so ANY distance is hard, I did an out and back to my in-laws and really struggled up all the hills on the way home...

It wound up being 5.89 miles and I'm happy with that....
I Jalked and Woged (walk/jog) most of the run,
while throwing in some FARTLEKS every few telephone poles.

Immediately upon returning to my house I got in my car and met up with Nicole for Starbucks.
It was the most delicious tasting unsweetened passion tea lemonade I've ever had. LIKE EVER.

Speaking of EVER (this blog post)
what would you say if someone CHALLENGED YOU to run at least 1 mile EVERYDAY for FOREVER until July 4th? NO WAY JOSE, I'd say.
GO AWAY JOSE, I'd say. I'd say, YOU CRAY CRAY JOSE....
THEN WHO AM I?
Because I agreed.
Soo, here it is,
Memorial Day to 4th of July RUNNING STREAK.
read all about it HERE

Day 1 = 3.1
Day 2 = 5.89

the time i went to medical school

HI!
CLEAN CLOSET!

THANKS DAD!

Other projects around the house:

Ummm,
Sooo, I realized yesterday how DISGUSTING the babies car seat is....
So for my "TO DO" today I am washing the padding.
EXCEPT, I'm not a doctor.
So I can't get it OFF the actual seat.

The baby sat on the door step rocking her new kicks from AUNTIE
watching me kick and curse at the carseat....

remember my STROLLER EPISODE
Well, Nicole is coming to rescue me, AGAIN.
(i owe u my soul, or at least lunch)

Okay, this just in,
 found the chainsaw,

dirty closet talk.

Good Rainy Tuesday Morning to you!
(if you're in the Poconos right now?!)

I know every few months I talk about cleaning my closet out
like I did HERE     AND HERE
Well, I realized last week that the 'design' of our 10 foot long closet doesn't really utilize the space efficiently. So I begged my carpenter of a dad to come take some measurements and install something more practical for a shoe hoarder

This was his little helper.
Seriously, she climbed that 6' ladder like she owned it!

This is an 'after' shot of the closet BEFORE the clothes.
I promise I own more than that shirt. Like, I have twice that many shirts.

Anyway, today is a great day to drink too much coffee and not get dressed!

Not that we will be walking around in our PJs all day!!

Heres a pic of my wet/rained on deck, incase you were just like-
'yaaaaaah right sHm, it's NOT raining'

Also 2 more things if I may....

Thanks for the encouraging words about MY 'DAY OF REVELATION' Post
I typed it, let my mouse hover over the 'publish' button for a few minutes,
and as soon as I published it, I wanted to erase it.... Actually I was even  a little anxious over it.
Then I  was pointed out by my friend LISA that my desire to erase it was just another example of how I second guess myself waaay too much, and way too easily....

Second thing,
If you get some time today, stop by Busy Little Beavers to say CONGRATS on an amazing race.
BLB raced her 2nd half marathon, has 2 GORGEOUS (like their momma) girls, and some pretty tasty looking recipes! Check it out!

THAT'S ALL FOLKS!

STAY DRY.

A Day of Revelation.sHm style.

MORE ERRANDS.
the end.

But seriously, how do workin' folk have time for
 oil changes?
Tire rotations?
Daily Walks?
Walking barefoot?
Afternoon coffee breaks?
Food shopping?
Homemade lunches?
Naptime?
House cleaning?
Sun soaking?
Hour long phone conversations with bffs?
mail checking?
bill paying?
favor doing?
Not sure.
I know I was in the working world once.
I tried sitting behind a computer 40+hrs a week.
I worked in a hospital for several years, but no windows in the hospital pharmacy...
I don't know what it is exactly, but
there IS something about today that made it all okay.
I have made peace with myself, and my 'career' choice.
I know I've been a stay at home mom since the very second I became a mom,
I feel extremely lucky and fortunate to be able to stay home,
but to be perfectly honest, in the back of my mind I always thought there was something
"MORE" I should be doing. Maybe it was society and the media subliminally applying pressure on me, to be able to contribute financially. To further my education...
TO DO MORE. BE MORE.
But really, what more important job is there than to take a little tiny baby,
just barely breathing on its own, and turn it into a decent human being.
To love that baby, to teach, show, grow with....
Being a mom for only 16 months now, I have learned MORE ABOUT MYSELF than anything.
These little things called KIDS sure are life changers...
I've also had a pep talk with myself today.
NO MORE.
No more comparing.
No more judging, second guessing.
That is something I struggle with,
I parent differently than my friend, or than the mom in this article, or than my doctor.
WHICH ONE OF US IS DOING IT WRONG?
The answer is NONE. And I am going to keep telling myself that...
I know me.
I know what I am comfortable with, what I need to work on more,
and I'm not right always, that's okay too.
It's even an issue for me on Facebook.
That's why I didn't have it for years.
And then once I got it instead of being excited about getting in touch with family and friends,
I noticed other people who
have traveled half the world, and are my age- should I travel more?
Are in grad school
Or, who go out dancing every single weekend.
And, Oh look here, this one has a brand new car,
or she still lives at home, did I grow up too fast?
I thought about erasing my Facebook account again,
but I stopped myself, I'm just going to use it as a
way to keep in touch with the people I care about most.

Who the F wrote this post?
and what did they do with your sHm?

remember, remember...

Sooo,
like I said 4 hours ago,
Errands.
While getting my oil changed the PRINCESS and I went for a walk.
JiffyLube told us 25 minutes...
Here are the pictures from today,
please enjoy!

you bet your lunch break that we did
STOP AND SMELL THE ROSES.

also, I LOVE old/aged wood, and thought this front deck was pretty
SWEEET!
(if this is your deck, sorry I was all McCreepy on you and taking pics)

1.61 miles during an oil change.
Not complaining.

Did you make it this far?

Have a good day!

just more dum. stuff.

Hello Readers MOM!
The other night for dinner .... MY HUSBAND(!!!!) requested

....

Meatloaf, you perv. He requested meatloaf...

I had some fresh green beans that needed cooking so I made a casserole and mashed sweet potatoes as sides.

Even 'THE PRINCESS' liked it!

Today I did some errands and stopped at Subway for lunch.
I had a 6" veggie loaded to the max, and the princess had an egg and cheese on an english muffin, which she picked at for 20 minutes, then drank a gallon of milk instead. #typical

When we got home, the weather here was GORGEOUS so we played outside for the rest of the afternoon!

And I didn't wear my normal "what I slept in" clothes...
I got dressed, a rarity, and I like it that way!

I rocked THIS JCREW TOP
Brown leggings
and these new JCREW BALLET FLATS
The caveman feet are all mine....

Funny Confession Ecard: I have a irrational fear of wasting a good outfit on an insignificant day.

Mothers Day Weekend

Good Monday Morning to you guys!

After the past couple weekends being jam packed:
(NYC 1/2, AC Bachelorette Party, LV 1/2, Wedding)
I'd like to recap my awesome and relaxing weekend with you guys...
Hope you don't mind!

Friday night Ryan and I rented a VoD (video on Demand)
We watched Contraband with Mark Wahlberg, it was really good, and nice to just HANG OUT.
Saturday I met up with my MiL and we went to a few local garage sales,
we got some good deals for the baby, and Gail nabbed an awesome (and authentic) Michael Kors bag for $40.00 !!!! (thats like $200.00 off)
We had a few other errands to run, then we played with the Queen of the Swingset...

On Sunday, (Mothers Day)
I weedwacked some weeds in my front yard, in my denim shorts,
new floral top, and a pair of Ryans workbooks.
It was a site to NOT see.
Grass all over me!
That little girl of mine got her momma a new backpack for Mothers Day.
It was EXACTLY LIKE what I picked out for myself!
And my MiL got me a new pair of Toms! WOOHOO to being a mom!

For dinner we BBQ'd and I made my Roasted Brussels Sprouts,
as per usual they were a big hit.
(toot toot)

Oh and Congrats to my Aunt Mary and Fam for completing their first Family 5K this weekend!!!

and YOU come home already!

What did you do?

FUNDAY

This morning the princess and I headed out with one thing in mind...LUGGAGE.
We actually don't own any and are always borrowing Ryan's parents.
Well we ARE married now, and 'all grown up' so I decided on THIS ONE
Hopefully it will hold up for us!
Its first trip will be our honeymoon in two weeks (!!!!!!)

Once we were finished with our errands we played outside,
until RIGHT NOW!

The princess LOVED the hose,
and Ryan LOVED spraying her...

Midday wardrobe change...

Hope you're enjoying your Friday,
I think Ryan and I will be having a quiet BBQ outside tonight!!
