for me, 

and the goonies that live in the sHm household, 

it means-

being outside.

dinner outside.

water: the drinking & swimming variety.

the color orange.

concerts.

late nights.

beerBQ's.

sticky watermelon.

v a c a t i o n s 

messy kiddos.

weddings.

sun kissed skin.

wet towels.

sand. (everywhere!)

hot.

air condition.

melt.

s'mores.

waterparks.

traffic.

sweat.

sunburn.

and mostly,

FUN.

Fun in the Sun.

Hello again!

Sunday 'the Boys' went fishing & boating early in the morning.

Around lunchtime 'the Girls' decided to crash the party!

We want sun.water.boat.

Here are the pics!

It was so much fun!

Maybe the best day ever,

Umm, things that I learned about myself:

-not a good swimmer

-fresh water is a nice change from the ocean

-looking over the edge of the boat means i'm begging to be pushed in. Thanks Husband. NOT.

-treading water was almost the death of me.

-turns out I CAN swim. especially when Ryan puts a MINNOW in my bathing suit. 

 -getting on and off the boat is easy because their's a ladder.

-getting on and off the boat while your father in law throws bait at your face is hard...

Lessons learned.

Yesterday I bopped around, 

went food shopping,

got my car washed

(while the baby was sleeping because she HATES the car wash)

Im even rocking my Essie Orange for DD nails. 

Today I have nothing on my agenda, 

and I plan on keeping it that way!

How do you feel about online shopping?

I was never really all about it,

where a few of my girlfriends are almost exclusively online shoppers. I don't like that you are unable to see,touch,feel the product before you commit to it. But I do like when I midnight shop online and forget, then packages arrive in the mail like a surprise delivery, except it's TO:me FROM: me. 

After typing it's a lot less awesome...?

Anyway here is an example of what was in my mailbox yesterday:

me: WOO HOOO I wanted this orange Essie nail polish sooo bad, what a nice surprise! Ohh wait... 

Moving right along to other equally as intelligent things:

What I DO appreciate about living in the woods is that the roads are not really heavily populated, and this is a common occurrence:

Not particularly a street LEGAL method of transportation, but definitely one of the more fun ways of getting around!

We spent the evening at a friends BeerBQ-ing 

who recently moved to a super adorable lake house, like ON THE WATER type lake house. Fully adorned patio set with outdoor rope lights will get me every.single.time! So cute & summery. thanks Jess & Paul.

Yesterday I had four cups of coffee then headed to Dunkin Donuts, all before 9am. 

By mid morning I was having heart palpitations and thought another large glass of caffeinated drink couldn't really hurt.

(in the form of iced tea)

I have some party planning to take care of,

I thought SIRI could help me.

Or at least get the number to my local 

Grand Rental Station.

Oh and maybe I asked her to call me "THE SH*T" from now on.

Because at least I could get a laugh from her.

HOARDERS: Episode 100

Morning!

Yesterday was SWELTERING heat here in the Poke-a-Nose,

I tried my hardest not to melt!

We were poolside for a little while,

but the sun was so extremely strong it made me nervous for the baby... So we took our party elsewhere.

Elsewhere would be the Second Happiest and Equally as Expensive Place on Earth: Target

Sure $51.00 isn't breaking the bank, More like $52 but when you're a Target addict like myself, I'm there more than once per week, that crap gets expensive!

Is it just me? Or if you're bored 'wanna walk around Target?'

I bought some TP that was on sale, and more boring stuff,

but the good stuff is below:

Thats Essie Brand Cascade Cool, Go Overboard, All Tied Up, and No Chips Ahead topcoat. 

I had one more quick stop at Rite Aid where I picked up this funky turquoise for $1.99 

Live and Learn I suppose.

Also, I should possibly learn not to paint my cuticles. 

You should see what the 'BAD' hand looks like. 

This morning it's still pretty cool here,

so we took our breakfast outside.

THEY whoever THEY are, are calling for HIGH 90's today.

I'm the opposite of a bird, and am migrating NORTH for the summer.

Ryan & I cleaned the entire house yesterday-

I've come to realize I have HOARDER TENDENCIES

HE HAS THE OPPOSITE.

'do you need these car keys?'

UMM YES, they're to my car.

'do you still want the laptop charger'

UMM YES, it is CURRENTLY charging my laptop and all

'do we still need our passports, or can I throw them out'

'what about movies that we haven't watched in a day'

'you don't really want the dirty clothes do you?'

You may or may not find me rummaging through our garbage cans today.

I'm not a hoarder until he finds bags of hair and finger nails...

Good Wednesday to you!

How have you guys been?

Busy?

I feel pretty busy now a days,

not even coming inside until after 8pm every night.

Lots of street soccer, sand box castle making, BBQ'ing, neighbor chitchatting, lemonade selling, ya know- typical summer shenanigans! 

I'm also driving our extra car which is a Jeep Wrangler, 

(because I put way too many miles on mine)

andyaknowhowido- TOP DOWN ;-)

And what is funny about driving a Wrangler is that you are instantly initiated into some "JEEP THING" club, and every wrangler you drive by gives you a cool head nod or a slight 2 finger wave off the ol steering wheel...

I personally don't get it. 

And its a 5 speed, so good luck to me not stalling in traffic or on all the steep hills...

If you're behind me, 

please, lets keep the bird flipping and swearing to a minimum. 

This is what I'll be dreaming of today, 

while cleaning my house.

And hopefully making plans to go visit again!?!

Seriously, ANYONE? 

It's supposed to be low 90's today,

I better get CLEANING!

Sorry Neighbors!

The awkward moment when I'm actually productive, then have an identity crisis because thats SO NOT ME.


I'm not exactly sure whats going as per USUAL but yesterday AND today I woke up around 3:00am. FOR NO REASON AT ALL, except I couldn't go back to sleep. Yesterday morning I decided to paint my nails

and this morning I thought I might get a run in, and I did.

I just finished 3 miles on my dreadmill treadmill.

As for yesterday, I had an awesome lunchdate with my MiL, and we even ventured out somewhere other than Dales!

After lunch we walked around the CROSSINGS. I bought Ryan a bunch of Fathers Day stuff, (cologne, hat, bathing suit, shorts) and a few things from JCrew for me! 

The girls are unaccustomed to half day shopping trips so they were bribed with FroYo afterwards!

 Once we were home we played. And we played HARD!


the Princess ate chalk like a champ for a half hour. 

The cousins played in the tractor for a while too.

Thats one of the only good thing about living in the woods.

You basically can do whatever you want at your house, like have a tractor. And a motorcycle. And a super loud truck. And an even louder muscle car.

My awesome husband was giving out Lawn Mower rides AND lessons.

We all, ALLL (yes, even me) were learning how to drive that thing. It's seriously a commercial grade lawn mower, meant for acres and acres of golf courses, not 10x10 squares of grass. Ryan mows the lawn in 15 seconds. 

We are off to the beach for the weekend, but I'll be back before its over!  Don't forget today is the last day to enter THE GIVEAWAY

Sunday night Ryan and I brought the Princess to Grandmas house so we could catch up with a group of friends.

It's so hard to stay in touch, so many good friends, 

and way too easy to lose touch, to lose yourself in your 'everyday grind' 

make coffee

make bed

go to work

stay home

take care of baby

clean baby

clean up after baby

naptime

lunchtime

food shopping

bill paying

dinnertime

bed

cleaning

laundry

etc.

It's hard, but friends are important.

It's important THEY KNOW they're important.

I LOVE all of our friends.

It was such a special night, 

plenty of memories, smiles, tears, cheers...

all of it. 

Here is a picture of me and my really great friend Roger.

Him and I hit it off in fifth grade and haven't lost touch since.

We (Ryan and I) were housemates with him, and became super close!

It was awesome catching up...

We also were out with Jaime, Kristin, Myles, Lisa, Matt, ChrisD... and way more.

This is what I've been up to...

As if Oreos aren't chocolatey enough, I chocolate dipped them.

Today we went to the beach, 

and had tons and tons and tons of fun!

TOO MUCH FUN!

And pretty typical, 

we scoped out some local shops and discovered 

a Lululemon Athletica. 

I splurged on a pair of THESE shorts,

they are given such amazing reviews, and basically 

ALL THE COOL KIDS were doing it, 

I had to join the lulu bandwagon...

The only thing bad about these shorts is my empty wallet.
